Glencoe Road Bridge Replacement

This project will replace the Glencoe Road Bridge over McKay Creek with a longer and wider bridge.  The new bridge will accommodate two lanes of vehicular traffic, cyclists, and occasional farm equipment.  Additional improvements include storm drainage upgrades to improve water quality, realigning Glencoe Road to the west to improve safety, and removing the old bridge piles from within McKay Creek to help restore natural stream habitat.  The project is funded through the Major Streets and Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP 3C).

Expect delays within the work zone through the summer, with lane restrictions occurring between the hours of 9am-3:30pm.

The posted speed is 25 MPH through the work zone.  This speed reduction is in place for the safety of commuters and road workers.  Traffic fines double when the violation is within a work zone.

US 26: Glencoe Road Interchange Project Update

Crews to perform tree and brush removal in February and March 2012, in preparation for construction work this summer.

Construction on the US 26 Glencoe Road Interchange Project will begin this summer.  To get ready for construction, ODOT needs to remove trees and brush in the area before the bird nesting season.  ODOT's contractor will perform tree and brush removal during the months of February and March.  Clearing will take place in all four quadrants of the interchange;  however, the majority will take place in the southwest and northeast quadrants.

Tree felling work will take place during the day between sunrise and sunset and will not directly impact traffic (although travelers can expect some shoulder closures).  Travelers should use caution when moving through the area while this work is happening adjacent to the roadways.

As part of the final work on the US 26 Glencoe Road Interchange Project, ODOT will re-plant the area densely with native riparian trees and shrubs, and wetland species.  ODOT will host an open construction staging and traffic impacts.
