The North Plains Municipal Court offers Traffic Safety Classes to those who qualify. The court staff will determine if you qualify after reviewing your driving record. If you qualify for a Traffic Safety Class the court staff will attempt to notify you by mail prior to your arraignment date.
Upon completion of class, please submit your certificate to us in one of three ways:

Eligibility Requirements - Seatbelt and Basic Traffic Safety
Eligibility Requirements - Traffic Safety Level I
Eligibility Requirements - Traffic Safety Level II

Eligibility Requirements Seatbelt and Basic Traffic Safety
1. The violation must be a Class D violation.
2. The defendant receiving the citation must be willing to participate in the program.
3. The violation must have occurred within the city limits of North Plains.
4. Defendant must be willing to give up your right to a speedy trial, in accordance with ORS 135.891.
5. Defendants with more than two moving violations on their driving record in the last three years shall be deemed ineligible.
6. Defendant will only be allowed to attend this class one time. Any further violations you receive will be ineligible for this program.
Eligibility Requirements Traffic Safety Level I
1. The violation must be a Class C violation.
2. The defentant receiving the citation must be willing to participate in the program.
3. The violation must have occurred within the city limits of North Plains.
4. Defendant must be willing to give up your right to a speedy trial, in accordance with ORS 135.891.
5. Defendants with more than two moving violations on their driving record in the last three years shall be deemed ineligible.
6. Defendant will only be allowed to attend this class one time. Any further violations you receive will be ineligible for this program.

1. The violation must be a Class B violation.
2. The defendant receiving the citation must be willing to participate in the program.
3. The violation must have occurred within the city limits of North Plains.
4. Defendant must be willing to give up your right to a speedy trial, in accordance with ORS 135.891.
5. Defendants with more than two moving violations on their driving record in the last three years shall be deemed ineligible, unless otherwise determined by the judge.
6. Defendant will only be allowed to attend this class one time. Any further violations you receive will be ineligible for this program.

3. The violation must have occurred within the city limits of North Plains.
