In order to ensure that future growth maintains the character and livability of North Plains, a North Plains Economic Development Committee was formed by City Council in 2018. This committee works to foster proactive economic development and encourage increases in both the local tax base as well as opportunities for local employment in the City of North Plains. This committee also makes recommendations for the City Council regarding the implementation of the 2035 North Plains Vision to guide business growth and development in the community, the Housing Needs Analysis, and Economic Opportunity Analysis.
